Sound recording equipment
The built-in microphone on the camera typically records only in mono, and you might want better quality sound. Stu Maschwitz of Prolost made a recommendation for using an external recorder / mic, the Olympus LS-10 Linear PCM Recorder + Olympus ME-52 Noise Cancellation Microphone in this post.
In that same post, Stu recommended the use of the VocALign software for synchronizing the sound as recorded from the camera's mic and from the external recorder / microphone setup.
