The Olympus RM-1 is an optical (IR or infrared) remote control, while the RM-UC-1 is a cable shutter release that connects to the multi-connector USB port of the E-620.

The pop-up internal flash of the E-620 can be used to trigger and communicate wirelessly with Olympus FL-36R and Olympus FL-50R electronic flash guns via light pulses.
