The price of most digital cameras tend to trend downwards over time, and the same price drop should occur in the case of the Sony Alpha NEX-3 compact mirrorless interchangeable lens, APS-C digital camera.
The α NEX-3 was announced on Tuesday, 11 May 2010, and features a 14.2 MP (Megapixels), 23.4 x 15.6 mm (1.5x lens crop factor) Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor, a 720p HD movie mode with 1280 x 720 (HD) @ 29.97 fps and 640 x 480 @ 29.97 fps capture capabilities. Weight and dimensions (W x H x D, excluding protrusions) are 239 g / 8.4 oz (body only), 297 g / 10.5 oz (including Battery and Memory Stick PRO Duo card), and 117.2 x 62.6 x 33.4 mm / 4 5/8 x 2 1/2 x 1 3/8 in. respectively.

The NEX-3 is available in three body colors, Black, Red and Silver, and the price may vary for each color. There is no body-only option as the NEX-3 package comes in a kit with either the Sony 16mm f/2.8 SEL16F28 wide-angle lens or the Sony 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 SEL1855 zoom lens.

Typical accessories for the NEX3
Sony NP-FW50 Li-Ion InfoLITHIUM W-Series Li-Ion Battery (7.2V, 7.7Wh (1080mAh). One unit of the rechargeable battery is already included in the box. However, it’s a good idea to purchase a spare battery as a backup so that the camera doesn’t run out of power during extended shooting sessions.
No memory card is included in the package. For storage, the NEX-3 can use Sony Memory Stick PRO Duo Mark 2 media cards. The Mark II cards are especially suited for recording video and high-resolution photos, which requires high write and throughput speeds. Other compatible memory cards are Memory Stick Duo and Pro HG Duo.
Sony VRDMC6 DVDirect Compact Size DVD Burner with AVCHD Recording: Allows you to burn images and footage directly to DVD from the NEX-3. The Sony DVDirect Express VRDP1 Multi-Function DVD Writer is a more compact device offering similar functionality, but without a built-in card reader.
Sony Digital Photo Frames allow you to display a slideshow of your images and footage in glorious color and clarity, while the Sony DPP-F700 7-Inch Digital Photo Frame/Printer is a combination device that, additionally, lets you do quick prints.
If you wish to geotag your photos and videos, the compact Sony GPS-CS3KA has a memory stick / SD card slot that lets you match data without the need for a computer.
