Panasonic DMW-BCE10 Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery: $17.70. It’s a good idea to get a second, backup battery for your DMC-FX55. This way, you can be sure your camera continues to have a power source during extended shooting sessions.
For storage, the FX55 uses SD or SDHC cards.
Refer to Rob Galbraith’s SD / SDHC card write speed tests (done on a Nikon D90) to get an idea on the relative write and read speeds of different brands of cards. At the time of writing (Oct 29, 2009), the SanDisk Extreme III SDHC cards occupy the top two spots.
To ensure smooth recording of video and high resolution images, go for Class 6 or faster cards.
