Sample Photos
Impress has a set of Nikon D800E vs Nikon D800 test images comparing image resolution and moire using a variety of Nikkor lenses: the 50mm f/1.4G, Nikon 24mm f/1.4G, Nikon 24-120mm f/4G VR, Nikon 35mm f/1.4G and Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8/G VR II.
50/1.4G snapshots at Kamkuey.com — I’m linking up to two posts on this blog, the first of which is an “announcement” by the blog admin of his acquisition of a new 50/1.4G lens and some miscellaneous images, and the second, a set of family photos snapped with this lens mounted on the Nikon D700 (I know it’s the D700, because I’d met and chatted with the owner).
The images have been reduced in size for the web, and there’s heavy post-processing involved, but I think the images can tell a lot about the bokeh characteristics of this Nikkor optic.
Accessories and Add-Ons
The filter thread size on the 50/1.4 G is 58mm, which means you’ll want to be looking at purchasing 58mm filters.
Additionally, Nikon lists the following accessories:
- CL-1013 Soft Lens Case
- HB-47 Bayonet Lens Hood
- LC-58 Snap-On Front Lens Cap 58mm
- LF-1 Rear Lens Cap
- 58mm Circular Polarizer II
