Is the T1i’s video capability for you?

You’re probably wondering if you should spend that extra bit of cash to enjoy the video / movie capture capabilities on the T1i instead of buying the older EOS Rebel XSi / 450D.

Personally, based on my ownership of the Nikon D90 (which also shoots video), I think video on DSLR cameras is a great feature to have, since it adds to the utility of the camera, without taking anything away from its traditional purpose, and that is, to take still photographs.

I’d advise for you to go ahead and get the T1i if you think that the video feature would be of practical use to you, and if the cost of the camera makes sense as far as your budget is concerned.

Read ProLost’s blog post and the comments in there for another take on movie mode on DSLR cameras.

Also, have a look at some T1i / 500D video / movie samples, and decide if the T1i is for you.
