Official Nikon D300 Availability Date in Japan
It's now official with the announcement on the Nikon Japan site - on 23rd November 2007, the D300 will be made available for sale in stores.
You don't have to be able to read Japanese to understand the gist of the announcement, just look out for the numbers 23 and 11:

The question now remains - will this be the same date that the D300 is launched worldwide? I can hardly wait for my own unit. I've placed a pre-order with Nikon Malaysia, but have no guarantee that a unit has been allocated for me - keeping my fingers crossed!

I pick mine up in the morning, that’s the morning of the 22nd November. A big thank you to Bic Camera in Yurakcho for letting me have mine a full day ahead of Nikon’s launch.
