The price of most digital cameras tend to trend downwards over time, and the same price drop should occur in the case of the Fujifilm Finepix HS10 advanced, long-zoom digital bridge (SLR-like) camera.

Fujifilm FinePix HS10 10 MP CMOS Digital Camera with 30x Wide Angle Optical Zoom and 3-Inch LCD: $368.63 ($60.37 price reduction since the last update).

Typical HS10 Accessories
The camera is powered by four AA batteries and non-rechargeable alkaline batteries are already included in the box. It’s a good idea to purchase additional backup batteries so that your HS10 continues to have a power source during extended shooting sessions. IMEDION or Sanyo Eneloop NiMH pre-charged rechargeable batteries are your best bet, as they retain the charge for a very long period of time.

For storage, the HS10 uses SD or SDHC cards.

Refer to Rob Galbraith’s SD / SDHC card write speed tests (done on a Nikon D90) to get an idea on the relative write and read speeds of different brands of cards. At the time of writing (Oct 29, 2009), the SanDisk Extreme III SDHC cards occupy the top two spots.

To ensure smooth recording of video and high resolution images, go for Class 6 or faster cards.

Good luck shopping for your Fuji HS10!
